RADIUS has emerged as the industry's most successful authentication protocol, with RADIUS servers now commonly deployed in many enterprise networks. Given the success of RADIUS, it has also emerged as an essential element in the deployment of standard-based solution to control network-access. For example, the 802.1X/EAP standards rely on RADIUS for user authentication.
Check Point has worked with leading RADIUS vendors to extend 802.1X/EAP authentication to also include the verification of endpoint security stature. By leveraging existing RADIUS servers for this process, network administrators can leverage their existing investment in RADIUS to achieve NAC.
