Crossbeam Systems Certifies Check Point’s IPS Intrusion Detection and Prevention System on its Open Security Platform

Crossbeam Customers can Deploy a Best-of-Breed, Next Generation Firewall from Check Point

February 24, 2009 – Crossbeam Systems, Inc., the leading provider of next-generation security platforms for high-performance networks, today announced at Check Point Experience in Paris, France, the certification of Check Point’s IPS dedicated intrusion detection and prevention system (IDS/IPS) on the Crossbeam X-Series platform.

According to Gartner, next-generation firewalls add intrusion prevention services to traditional firewall capabilities to help expand defense to corporate networks against cyber attacks. With this certification, Crossbeam customers can now deploy Check Point IPS in conjunction with the Check Point VPN-1 R65, also certified to run on the X-Series, to deliver a best-of-breed next-generation firewall.
