Product Description:

SuperStack 3 4400
The 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 4400 delivers high-performance 10/100 Ethernet switching, with a choice of uplink options, plus enhanced features that include advanced traffic filtering, QoS functionality, and full telephony support.

AP 8750
The AP 8750 is an enterprise-class, high-performance 802.11a-802.11g dual-mode wireless access point supports up to 253 users.

NJ220 / NJ225 Intellijack
The 3Com IntelliJack Switch NJ220 is an "in-the-wall," managed Ethernet switch that easily quadruples LAN infrastructure connections. Four switched ports and up to two pass-through ports connect a variety of devices via one wall outlet, making it more cost-effective than pulling additional wiring. This unique networking platform is ideal for hard-to-wire spaces such as asbestos-insulated walls, older buildings, dormitories, and modular cubicles.

Key Features and Benefits

SuperStack 3 4400

  • User network login with IEEE 802.1X and RADIUS, combined with RADIUS Authenticated Device Access (RADA), based on MAC address, provide secure network access control at the network edge
  • Authenticated users can be automatically placed into a specific VLAN, restricting access only to the data needed
  • LACP (802.3ad) intelligently detects configuration duplicity and uses it to trunk up to 4Gb of bandwidth across a stack, while nullifying single points of failure from the network's edge infrastructure
  • Advanced Layer 4 functionality automatically identifies and prioritizes real-time or business-critical applications, such as SAP, voice, and video
  • Backup and restore functionality enables switch configurations to be captured and reapplied individually to a single switch or across a whole network at a push of a button
  • Forwarding up to 6.6 million pps, the Switch 4400 operates at full wire speed on all ports
  • Stackable architecture increases scalability and allows high-speed trunks between workgroup and other resources
  • Add optional switching modules to provide resilient high-speed connections, such as Gigabit Ethernet backbone links, or 100BASE-LX 10 links for Ethernet in First Mile over Point to Point Fiber (EFMF)
  • Mix and match 24-port and 48-port SuperStack 3 Switch 4400s to create a resilient stack of up to a total of 384 10/100 connections

AP 8750

  • Ships as dual-mode 802.11a-802.11g access point to support more wireless clients within the same coverage area
  • Supports up to 253 simultaneous users at speeds up to 54 Mbps at distances up to 100 meters (328 feet); up to 108 Mbps in 11a turbo mode
  • Clear Channel Select chooses the least busy channel for problem-free connections
  • Auto network connect and dynamic rate shifting keep network connections continuously available by automatically changing connections speed as conditions change and mobile users move through the network coverage area
  • PoE powers the access point over existing Ethernet cabling for simpler, more flexible installations; no additional power supply required
  • Diversity radio antenna provides excellent performance and coverage in high multi-path environments such as offices, warehouses, and other indoor installations
  • 40/64-, and 128/154-bit WEP shared key encryption and advanced WPA AES 256-bit encryption ensure the privacy of all wireless transmissions
  • Dynamic security link automatically assigns user-specific 128-bit encryption keys for wireless sessions
  • 802.11x RADIUS server authentication controls wireless network access and centralizes user authorization across the network
  • Dynamic session key management and TKIP dynamic key assignment improves security and simplifies deployment
  • MAC address access control lists control access to network resources
  • Client-to-client and uplink filtering block direct communications between other wireless users associated to the access points
  • Dynamic VLAN assignment, used with RADIUS authentication, assigns users to an appropriate VLAN, further protecting access to network resources
  • Support for SNMP, 3Com Network Supervisor and other standards-based management software ensures seamless integration with your wired network
  • RADIUS accounting support enables billing by usage for hotspot and other commercial deployments
  • DHCP Passthrough

NJ220 / NJ225 Intellijack

  • Four 10/100 Mbps switched ports connect desktops, notebooks, printers, fax machines, or VoIP telephones; optional pass-through ports support telephony or additional networking
  • Bundled central management capabilities help streamline IT administration and enhance data security
  • Management GUIs offer fine control of a single port, as well as bulk administration for a group of network jacks
  • The Location Mapping feature remotely locates any device on the network-a great advantage for troubleshooting
  • Standards-based traffic prioritization, multicast rate control, and VLANs balance loads and boost security
  • Security features include 802.1x Network Login, RADIUS support, MAC address filtering, traffic monitoring, SNMP traps, 802.1Q VLANs, and wall-mounted case
  • Power over Ethernet lowers the risk of power interruptions; port #1 can forward power to another device
  • Portable AC power supply for LANs without inline power capabilities is also convenient for installation and configuration
  • Compliance with NEMA-WD6 and ANSI commercial building standards helps ensure easy installation

OPSEC Integration

Network devices that support the 802.1X specification (RFC 3580) can integrate with Check Point Integrity to analyze and act upon an endpoint's current security stature. 3Com switches communicate with Check Point Integrity to verify endpoint compliance with corporate security policy prior to enabling full access to the network. Non-compliant endpoints are automatically placed in a 'quarantine' VLAN where network access is limited to remediation tools. Once the endpoint has been brought into a compliant state, it can be moved to the 'compliant' network segment where it gains appropriate access to network resources. This process ensures insecure or compromised systems are shielded from the production network until they have been properly cleaned and protected.
