ServerIron Web switches provide load balancing of Check Point’s VPN-1/FireWall-1 products for scalability and high availability. ServerIron switches provide stateful fail-over of IPSec connections and tolerate a failure of a ServerIron switch or the Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 product in high availability configurations.

ServerIron switches provide stateful as well as stateless load balancing of firewalls and support stateful fail-over of TCP/UDP sessions in case of failure at ServerIron switch or a firewall. ServerIronXL supports 1,000,000 concurrent sessions, provides up to 24 10/100 ports and 2 Gigabit ports and consumes only 1.5 U of rack space. ServerIronXL supports an easy-to-use command line interface or Web-based GUI. ServerIron switches also support multi-zone firewall load balancing to enable deployment of DMZs. ServerIronXL boots in less than 10 seconds, and supports redundant power supplies.
OPSEC Integration
ServerIron switches interoperate with VPN-1/FireWall-1 products to provide high availability and load balancing of active connections, including VPN-1 connections, by utilizing the state synchronization feature available on FireWall-1.

ServerIron also provides the ability to log events to a Check Point management station utilizing Check Point's OPSEC ELA API.

ServerIron switches are OPSEC certified for operation with up to three synchronized load balanced gateways.
