The Netcool suite is integrated with the OPSEC architecture through its ability to collect alarms and events through LEA interface from the Check Point Firewall-1 security solution using the Netcool/Probe for Firewall-1. The Netcool suite monitors security information from Check Point Software Technologies FireWall-1 enterprise security solution, providing operators in security operations centers with a complete end-to-end view of both network and security events. By allowing all security events to be viewed together in precise service-specific views, the Netcool suite allows operators to quickly detect and defend against unwanted intrusions into secure computing environments.

The Netcool suite provides real-time security monitoring, streamlined operations by correlating security events across firewalls, and reduced security risks by supporting a single security management policy. The ability of Netcool suite to consolidate events and alarms across a firm's entire security network Netcool/Probe for Firewall-1 adds security to service-level management via a process called adaptive firewalling. The monitor detects an internal or external breach of the firewall network and raises an alert through Netcool in the security operations center. Netcool then automatically references its stored security policy for the organization to determine the appropriate steps to deal with the intrusion. Using the Netcool suite, the entire process can be automated to provide the almost instantaneous correction of unwanted network intrusions.
