OPSEC Integration

NextHop GateD operates seamlessly with Check Point Firewall1/VPN-1 Software on Linux and Solaris platforms.

NextHop GateD OSPF along with Check Point FW1 can be run on multiple servers to provide for redundancy. GateD OSPF implementation is fully compliant with OSPF version 2, RFC 2328. It supports both Type 1 and Type 2 external routes, multiple areas, area border router functionality, and virtual links. Additionally, it operates over broadcast, point-to-point, point-to-multi-point, and NBMA networks.

A combination of Check Point software and NextHop multicast technologies can be used to enable secure multicast applications. e primary items included with each multicast routing protocol are the MBR, MRT, and IGMP. The MBR (Multicast Border Router) functionality is used to give ownership of differentinterfaces to different multicast routing protocols. This is necessary so that more than one protocol can be run on the box at the same time. The MRT (Multicast Routing Table) maintains the state associated with sources and groups, which is subsequently fed to the forwarding engine. IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol) is a basic building block for multicast routing that allows hosts to report their group memberships to routers.
