Product Description: OpenLDAP Software is an open source implementation of the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol. This suite includes:

  • slapd - stand-alone LDAP daemon (server)
  • slurpd - stand-alone LDAP update replication daemon
  • libraries implementing the LDAP protocol, and utilities, tools, and sample clients.

Company Description: The OpenLDAP Project is a collaborative effort to develop a robust, commercial-grade, fully featured, and open source LDAP suite of applications and development tools. The project is managed by a worldwide community of volunteers that use the Internet to communicate, plan, and develop the OpenLDAP Suite and its related documentation.

The project is coordinated by the OpenLDAP Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation whose sole charter is to promote and support the development of Open Source LDAP software and information.

OPSEC Integration:

Check Point has OPSEC certified the OpenLDAP implementation at the request of several customers. Check Point products have the ability to access LDAP directory servers for managing users, groups and templates. Customers can utilize the OpenLDAP implementation and rest assured it's been validated to interoperate properly with our VPN-1 NG and Connectra product lines.
