| InterScan
VirusWall is installable on a FireWall-1 machine or a separate
CVP server in minutes. Administration requires no attendance:
all routine operations (e.g. downloading virus pattern files,
sending virus-event notifications and deleting aged log files)
occur automatically. InterScan's web-browser interface allows
remote access and the system administrator can choose from a
variety of notification options including sending alerts to
the system administrator, file recipient and message sender.
Infected files can be cleaned, quarantined or deleted. Intelligent
detection algorithms check only those files capable of carrying
a virus, bypassing all others, to optimize performance. InterScan,
which uses the CVP API to communicate with Check Point FireWall-1,
detects over 15,000 viruses, malicious Java applets and ActiveX
programs. InterScan technology also includes Trend's patent-pending
MacroTrap for heuristic macro analysis which provides the capability
of detecting macro viruses that have not been previously encountered.
More than 19 types and encoding formats are accommodated and
up to 19 levels of compression can be recursively scanned. Virus Pattern updates are available automatically from Trend's on-line facilities. A performance monitor feature charts and analyzes InterScan's performance and activities and comprehensive virus-event log files identify points of vulnerability. InterScan integrates with Trend's Virus Control System for enterprise-wide platform independent virus technology control. |

| Trend Micro's InterScan VirusWall for Solaris uses Check Point's CVP API for complete integration with FireWall-1. InterScan also supports FireWall-1's authentication security and is not a proxy. The flexible setup supports any network topology including installation onto the FireWall-1 machine or another content security server. After installing InterScan, the user simply adds the virus scanning service to the FireWall-1 rules base to start scanning---without interrupting the flow of network traffic. Only Trend InterScan VirusWall with CVP support gives UNIX users a fully integrated, best-of-breed anti-virus solution for the enterprise. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
