Web Security

XML Security Gateways

The Web Services Security Gateway complements Check Point’s Web Intelligence. Customers exposing web services to their users and partners can deploy an additional layer of security that will inspect the various requests and responses entering & leaving their networks via web services protocols such as XML and SOAP. OPSEC integrated solutions offer:

  • Centralized event notification, enabling the security administrator to view critical issues that the web services gateway may detect from the Check Point SMART console.
  • Ability to offload only web services data for further security inspection
  • Ability to accelerate web services requests for faster overall throughput

The Web Services gateway typically resides behind the firewall and SSL-VPN gateways, whereby all xml/soap traffic will get routed to it for parsing and validation.

Web Services Security Solutions
Web Services (XML, SOAP, etc.) security solutions ensure that critical applications are accessible and continuously available by allowing network administrators to enforce perimeter policies that check the integrity of data and control access to exposed enterprise Web services.

By decrypting the communications channel (e.g. SSL) and checking the content of the messages, Web Services gateways can protect applications from a variety of threats, such as:

  • XML and SOAP form conformance validation
  • Buffer overrun checks
  • Schema validation
  • XML filtering
  • DoS protection

Check Point Web Intelligence
Check Point Web Intelligence enables customers to configure, enforce and update attack protections for Web servers and applications. Web Intelligence protects against a range of known attacks varying from attacks on the Web server itself to databases used by Web applications. In addition, Web Intelligence incorporates intelligent security technologies that protect against entire categories of emerging, or unknown attacks.
